Months of PT elsewhere hadn't fixed her leaking. Then she ran six miles dry.
A marathon runner came to Foundations after spending months in physical therapy that never resolved her problem: she leaked every single time she ran. Running wasn't a hobby for her — it was the thing she most wanted back. We assessed how her pelvic floor was actually behaving under impact, treated what her previous care had missed, and built a graded return-to-run progression. Within weeks she was stacking four, five, and six mile runs with zero leaking.
"She came in telling me she ran five miles, then six — and she had no leakage. She was so excited to get back to running. It's the number one thing she wanted, and I was so happy for her."

17 years of pelvic pain — and a doctor who told him nothing could be done
He had lived with pelvic pain and testicular burning for seventeen years. His own urologist told him, "I have the same thing — you can't do anything about it." He had no idea pelvic floor physical therapy existed until he found us. After his first visits, he emailed to say he already felt better. Seventeen years of resignation, unwinding in weeks — because the problem was treatable muscle dysfunction all along.
"It's empowering to see the quality of life change when people realize that what they've been dealing with is not something they have to keep dealing with — mentally, physically, everything."
— Dassi
A 20-year-old injury every other PT had treated the same way
A personal trainer had carried a hip injury since her high school track days — two decades of "this is just my hip." She'd been through physical therapy more than once, and as a fitness professional she knew how to train around it. No one could crack it, because no one had assessed the pelvic floor. Esther looked where the other clinicians hadn't, found the driver of the pain, treated it, and resolved a problem that had lasted twenty years.
"I get patients who've had back pain or hip pain forever, and nobody seems to be able to crack it. We look in places other people don't look."

Her third baby — and her first delivery without an episiotomy
She came to Foundations during her third pregnancy — the first time she'd ever done pelvic floor PT before a birth. Her first two deliveries had both required episiotomies. We spent the weeks before delivery on perineal stretching and mobilization, releasing scar tissue from her earlier births, and teaching her how to push effectively. Her third delivery was her first without an episiotomy, and she came back postpartum to tell us.
"I was so happy — I'm sure a lot of that was the work we did to prepare the tissue and get her understanding how to push properly."

The constant leaking was coming from her hip — and nobody had connected the two
She came in for constant urinary leaking. Separately, she was seeing a different physical therapist for a hip problem — and had no idea the two were related. Her hip pain was making the surrounding muscles brace constantly, putting relentless pressure on her bladder. We released the tension through the hip and pelvic floor, then strengthened the hip that had been compensating for years. When the hip pain resolved, the leaking stopped completely.
"She didn't connect the two. When we dealt with the pain in her hip, her leaking improved completely."
