There is no one-size-fits-all program for pelvic floor issues. Whether we are addressing a specific injury or the complexities of Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CPPS), we recognize that sometimes muscles need to be strengthened, and sometimes they need to learn how to relax. And many times they need both! Through discussions with our patients and an extensive musculoskeletal evaluation, the physical therapists at Foundations Physical Therapy develop a treatment plan. That may include a combination of targeted exercises, manual therapy/myofascial release techniques, joint mobilization, biofeedback, or another of our techniques to support pelvic recovery.
To provide the quality of care that is necessary for the health and rehabilitation of our patients, Foundations Physical Therapy does not accept any health insurance other than Medicare. We spend a full hour with each of our patients at every session and provide a level of care that we would not be able to do if we were in-network with insurances. (For information on why we don’t accept insurance, read our blog post about it.)
We are considered an out-of-network provider across all insurance carriers and submit claims on your behalf. If you are interested in using your out-of-network insurance and would like us to submit to it on your behalf, please submit your insurance information on your intake form on the patient portal. We will be able to verify your out-of-network coverage for physical therapy.
If you have out-of-network coverage or Medicare, you will be responsible for the copay/co-insurance at the time of your appointment. If you do not have out-of-network benefits, full payment is expected at the time of your appointment.
Foundations PT, we address CPPS by focusing on the relationship between the pelvic floor muscles and the nervous system. Using a combination of internal and external manual therapy and biofeedback, we help “down-train” non-relaxing muscles to alleviate the pressure and persistent discomfort characteristic of pelvic pain syndromes.
To help muscles learn how to relax, we utilize specialized techniques, including myofascial release, trigger point manual therapy, and biofeedback. These methods are particularly effective for patients experiencing pelvic floor hypertonicity or “guarding” that often accompanies chronic conditions.
Yes. Our 60-minute, one-on-one sessions allow for the extensive musculoskeletal evaluation and constant adjustment of treatment plans required for complex cases. This dedicated time ensures we can address not only the physical symptoms but also the lifestyle factors and biomechanics that impact chronic pelvic health.
Yes. While we are an out-of-network provider across all insurance carriers, we provide a high level of quality care that includes submitting claims on your behalf. We can verify your out-of-network coverage during your intake to ensure you can maximize your benefits while receiving specialized treatment for your condition.
We are a non-participating Medicare provider which requires payment of services up front (utilizing a specific Medicare fee schedule) and reimbursement by Medicare and any secondary insurance directly to the patient. We can submit claims on your behalf to Medicare and Medicare will submit claims on your behalf to your secondary insurance.
